Proform Premium subscribers with the Sectionals add-on can now open a full sectional workspace on any past race. The feature breaks down speed, position and stride data for every horse at every furlong, across four complementary views.

How to access it

Pull up any race result. Below the finishing order, the purple Sectional Analysis section expands into a complete timing workspace.

Control bar

Before the tabs sit the controls that govern all of them:

  • Show — trims the field to the first three, five or six home
  • Hide First Section — removes the run from the stalls, which distorts the early data
  • Compare — isolates only the horses you want to line up against each other
  • Speed unit — switches between seconds, miles per hour and kilometres per hour

Set these once, and every tab applies them.

Times tab

The foundation view shows the time in seconds each horse took for every furlong section, with the par time for the race displayed across the top. Green indicates faster than par; red indicates slower. This makes it simple to see where the race was won and lost at a glance.

Time Diff tab

Time Diff strips the data to the single number that matters: how far each section was off par. Positive means slower than par, negative means faster. The Total column sums these differences, separating a horse that was honest throughout from one flattered by a steady early pace.

Cumulative tab

Cumulative keeps a running total of section times, showing the shape of the race as it unfolds — where gaps opened and where closers began gaining ground.

Heat Map tab

The Heat Map presents the same data as colour: a grid of every horse against every section, from green (fast) through to red (slow). Patterns emerge that numbers alone can obscure — a band of late green low down the field marks the horses that finished best, regardless of placing.
