Real-Time Notifications

RaceMetrics uses Server-Sent Events to push notifications to your browser in real time. When something changes — a non-runner is declared, the going is updated, or results are published — you are notified immediately without refreshing the page.

The Notification Bell

The bell icon in the top navigation bar shows your unread notification count. Click it to see a dropdown of recent notifications. Each notification shows the type, message, and timestamp. Click any notification to navigate to the relevant page.

Types of Notification

Non-runner alerts tell you when a horse is withdrawn from a race. Going change alerts notify you when official going is updated at any course. Racecard alerts fire when new racecards are loaded for upcoming fixtures.

Results notifications confirm when race results and rating changes have been processed. Price update alerts tell you when evening, breakfast, or morning prices arrive. Competition notifications keep you updated on RM7 leaderboard changes.

Feature notifications announce new site features and improvements as they are deployed.

Notification Preferences

You can control which notification types you receive. Navigate to your notification preferences to enable or disable specific categories. If you only care about non-runners and going changes, switch off the rest.

Pattern Alerts

When you save patterns in the Pattern Manager, RaceMetrics checks incoming racecards against your saved patterns. If a matching runner appears, you receive a pattern alert notification. This is a powerful way to automate your handicapping process — define your angles once and let the system find the matches.

View All Notifications

Click "View All" in the notification dropdown, or navigate to the Notifications page directly, to see your complete notification history. Mark individual notifications as read, dismiss them, or use the "Mark All Read" button to clear the badge count.
