Accessing a Horse Profile
Click any horse name in a racecard, result, or search to open their profile. The profile page brings together everything RaceMetrics knows about that horse in one place.
Overview Tab
The overview shows the horse's current RaceMetrics Rating, trainer, jockey, sire, dam, damsire, and owner — all clickable links to their own profiles. You will also see age, colour, sex, and breeder information.
A rating history chart plots the horse's RaceMetrics Rating over time, making it easy to spot improving or declining form at a glance.
Results Tab
Every career run is listed with date, course, race details, finishing position, starting price, and rating change. Click any race to view the full result or racecard. This is the horse's complete race record.
Breakdowns Tab
The breakdowns tab is where the real analysis lives. Performance is split into Going, Class, Distance, Course, Age, and Field Size categories. Each breakdown shows runs, wins, win percentage, and profit/loss to SP.
Click the expand button on any breakdown to see the full table in a modal. All columns are sortable. You can save any breakdown row as a pattern for future matching — for example, save this horse's record on Soft ground as a pattern to be alerted when conditions match.
Patterns Tab
The Patterns tab shows profitable angles found in the horse's form. These are automatically detected conditions where the horse has shown consistent profitability. You can save any of these as tracked patterns.
Form Lines
Inline form lines give a compact race-by-race view with icons to jump to the full result, racecard, or race workout for each run. Hover over form figures for details.
Using Profiles in Your Handicapping
Before a race, open profiles for the key runners. Compare their going preferences, distance records, and course form. Horses with strong course-and-distance records and improving ratings deserve close attention.
