Command Centre: Your Performance Heatmap Guide
The Command Centre is an interactive heatmap available on every RaceMetrics profile — trainers, jockeys, horses, sires, dams, damsires, and owners. It displays performance across two dimensions at once (Course × Month, for example) using colour coding tailored to each participant's own benchmark. This lets you identify targeting patterns, seasonal peaks, and profitable niches without scrolling through tables.
How to Access It
Two routes get you there. From any profile page, click the Command Centre tab marked with a purple PP badge. Alternatively, open any racecard, click Command Centre in the view tab bar (after Collateral), and select which participant type you want to analyse — Horse, Trainer, Jockey, Sire, Dam, Damsire, or Owner. The profile opens directly to the Command Centre with a race context navigator, letting you switch between participants in the same race.
Understanding the Colour Code
The Command Centre doesn't use a fixed colour scale. Instead, it calculates each participant's overall metric value as their personal benchmark — say, a trainer's 22.9% win rate across all runs. Green cells show performance above that benchmark, yellow cells show typical performance, and red cells show below-benchmark results. An amber badge displays the current benchmark, so you're always comparing a participant against themselves, not against a global average.
Customising Your View
You control what the heatmap shows. Choose any two dimensions for the X and Y axes: Course, Month, Year, Class, Going, Race Type, Distance, or Day of Week. Select your metric (PRB %, Win %, Place %, ROI %, or Runs). Set a minimum run threshold per cell — default is 3 runs for most participants, 1 for horses. Toggle between interactive 3D bar charts and flat 2D heatmaps depending on what tells the story clearest.
The Command Centre has its own independent filter controls, separate from your profile-level filters, so you can drill into specific data slices without disrupting your other analysis.
